'Butterflies and Angels' Fluid Art Acrylic On Canvas
'Butterflies and Angels' has been created by carefully and thoughtfully blowing the paint across the canvas using a hairdryer ('dutch' pour). By leaving, 'negative space,' (white) an amazing and beautiful composition is created. This is called a ‘Dutch pour,’ which is an acrylic pouring technique that uses air to move the paints on a canvas. You can use a hairdryer, straw and lungs/mouth, or anything that blows air.
For this piece, I wanted pure negative space, which is the area around the main focal point of the painting.
I chose the shades of purple, lilac, blue and metallic gold, to make a contrast between negative and positive space, drawing the eyes to this stunning and striking composition.
These particular pours are known for the ribbon-like edges and cell lacing that can be achieved using this technique.
"A beautiful, airy and soft composition, which would be a real focal piece in any home or office space."
Canvas Size: Approx 40 x 50 x 5 cm (16 x 20 x 2 inch side)
Wall Photo provides a perspective of this painting hung. Please note it is not to scale (the size of the painting has been provided). Thanks.
